Welcome, beach lovers, to a sun-soaked journey through the shimmering shores of Puerto Rico! Having grown up in Puerto Rico I was able to visit a lot of breathtaking beaches the island has to offer. Today, I'm thrilled to share with you my top four picks that are sure to leave you craving more salty air.
Playa Jobos: Playa Jobos, where the waves are as lively as the vibrant culture that surrounds it. Nestled on Puerto Rico's northwest coast in Isabela, this beach is a mecca for surfers and sun worshippers alike. Picture-perfect palm trees, ice-cold mojitos, piña coladas, clear water and more. Whether you're catching waves or catching rays, Playa Jobos is a must-visit for anyone craving a taste of Puerto Rico's laid-back coastal charm.
Playa Crash Boat: Playa Crash Boat has been one of my favorite beaches for as long as I can remember. Named after the nearby former military port, this beach has crystal-clear turquoise waters that you won't resist to dive right in. Snorkelers will enjoy the vibrant marine life that calls these waters home, while sun-seekers can lounge on the soft, golden sand and soak up the Caribbean sunshine. Also, who can forget the pier where tourist and locals love to dive from! With its lively atmosphere and postcard-worthy views, Playa Crash Boat is a true gem of Puerto Rico's west coast.
Playa Flamenco: No list of Puerto Rico's top beaches would be complete without a nod to the iconic Playa Flamenco on the island of Culebra. Renowned for its pristine white sands and tranquil, turquoise waters, this beach is nothing short of paradise found. Whether you're camping under the stars, snorkeling alongside colorful fish, or taking a stroll along the shore, Playa Flamenco is sure to leave you mesmerized by its natural beauty and undeniable charm.
Cayo Icacos: Last but certainly not least, we have Cayo Icacos - a hidden gem just off the coast of Fajardo. Accessible only by boat, this uninhabited island is a sanctuary for those seeking solitude and serenity amidst nature's splendor. With its powdery white sands and crystal-clear waters teeming with marine life, Cayo Icacos is a paradise for snorkelers, beachcombers, and nature lovers alike. Whether you spend your day lounging in the sun or exploring the island's untouched beauty, one thing's for sure - Cayo Icacos will leave an indelible mark on your heart.
So there you have it! My top four picks for exploring the beautiful shores of Puerto Rico. Whether you're chasing waves, chasing sunsets, or simply chasing that feeling of bliss that only comes from being seaside, these beaches are sure to captivate your senses and leave you longing for more. Until next time, may your days be filled with sunshine, sand, and sabor! 🌴☀️🌊
